Biogen shares its deepest condolences on the passing of Charles Weissmann, MD, Ph.D., a visionary scientist and one of the cofounders of Biogen. As a pioneer in biotechnology, Dr. Weissmann played a foundational role in shaping Biogen during its earliest days and helped place it into history as one of the world’s first biotechnology companies. Dr. Weissmann’s scientific insight, entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to advancing biology and medicine left a lasting mark on Biogen and on the biotechnology industry as a whole, helping lay the groundwork for decades of innovation and scientific progress.
